The Village of Tarrytown has become a hotbed for television and movie productions.

Priyanka Chopra
On Monday, July 18, the popular ABC television show Quantico spent the day filming on Main Street, equipped with four tractor-trailers. It’s star, Priyanka Chopra, was spotted near Main Street Sweets, and the Setback Inn was used for some scenes.
Quantico was interested in spending a few more days in the downtown, but the village declined since such activities can become a nuisance for local merchants.
To film in the village, production crews need to obtain a permit, and Village Administrator Michael Blau said there are specific criteria that must be met.
“They come in and ask for the world, and then we sit down and negotiate,” Blau said. “We only give permits for specific locations.”
Blau said the village receives requests for permits at least once a month, sometimes more often. He estimated Tarrytown earns approximately $15,000 annually for allowing its streets and buildings to be captured on film.
Two HBO shows, including Girls, have also recently filed paperwork for permits in the village.
